Josh L. Mirmelli, Psy.D. obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University where he received specialized training in substance abuse, trauma, and personality disorders. He completed his internship in a maximum-security forensic hospital where he focused on the assessment and treatment of chronic and severe mental illness. Dr. Mirmelli works primarily from a cognitive-behavioral therapy framework while also incorporating components of dialectical behavior therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and mindfulness skills into his sessions. Dr. Mirmelli specializes in treating substance use disorders, mood disorders, LGBTQ concerns, disordered eating, and personality disorders.
